Our plan is the community

Caring. Connected. Collaborative.

Building community resilience and regeneration is what we do.

We educate, train, inform, support, mentor, implement, respond, research, influence, partner with and facilitate connections.

Is the Northern Rivers food system resilient?

In the face of already numerous adversities, the Northern Rivers of NSW is grappling with yet another concern: food security. Floods, bushfires, and the ongoing impact of the COVID pandemic have exposed vulnerabilities in the area's food system.

We have conducted a new study, in partnership with UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures and Wild Community, and with funding from the Northern Rivers Community Foundation, to address these issues by exploring the state of food chains in the Northern Rivers.

One of the major findings of the study is the lack of a coordinated government approach to disaster food security, with the burden of addressing food insecurity falling on the community.

Our study presents ten key recommendations for transitioning to a circular food economy in the Northern Rivers.

Facing Up: how do we live in the midst of the climate and ecological crises?

JOIN the conversation!

Facing Up was a series of trauma-informed conversations that focused on the social, economic, cultural, political, emotional and spiritual consequences of the ecological crisis.

In a series of public conversations, held monthly from March to November 2023, some of Australia’s leading thinkers considered our place in a rapidly transformed world, and how we might think, feel and act in ways that are grounded, empowering and life-affirming.

We invite you to listen to the recordings of these ground-breaking conversations here.
